About US:
The Ministry of Works and Transport is implementing the Strengthening Sector Coordination, Planning and ICT Project. The Strengthening Sector Coordination and ICT Project (SSCP) aims at ensuring effective and efficient Coordination, Planning and Monitoring, Strengthening the Information Technology and Information systems in the Ministry of Works and Transport.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct research for legislative and policy reform.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on legal mailers.
  • Prepare programs for consultation with the public and civil society to promote the public participation in the process of strengthening Air, Rail, Road and Maritime laws.
  • Preparation of Public education programs on transport laws/ policies.
  • In liaison with the Attorney General’s Chambers handles cases in respect to the Ministry and prepares publications on transport legislation.
  • Preparation of draft report on implementation of legal measures initiatives and briefs on the status of cases involving the Ministry.
  • Ensure proper documentation of dissemination reports and review reports pertaining to the legal department.
  • Provide advice on different legal issues and assist in drafting legal opinions and other briefing documents.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Law degree from a recognized university/ institution
  • Post graduate Diploma in legal practice from Law Development Centre.
  • Proficiency in Computer operations especially MS Office.
  • A minimum of three years of legal work experience
