Description
PowerGen Renewable Energy is a micro-grid developer, implementer, and operator in East Africa, reshaping the prevailing rural electrification model in the region. PowerGen is creating an African energy system that utilizes clean, renewable energy and smarter grids to deliver power to all.
As the Demand Stimulation Associate you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s marketing and sales activities which include designing, test and implement innovative projects to sell more power to PowerGen’s customers. You will be responsible for pioneering in the energy access market, with direct impact of the sustainable growth of the business. The role requires deep understanding of customers, their behavior and needs, as well as a strong sales mentality and creativity to develop new solutions.
You will report to the Senior Demand Stimulation Associate and work closely across the team within the Tanzania Customer Division.

What You’ll Make Happen:
• Evaluation of mini-grid load growth efforts in E. Africa and globally.
• Design market research approaches and questionnaires to identify customer needs.
• Conduct data gathering trips to PowerGen grids in Kenya and Tanzania.
• Prepare analysis of the customer data (qualitative and quantitative).
• Design a framework to identify most promising load growth options, make recommendation using this framework.
• Develop suitable sales models for the customer segments.
• Design pilot(s) to test the preferred sales and load growth models.
• Support the implementation planning of the pilots.
• Project manage the pilot programmes, including their ongoing monitoring.
• Help identify, rank and manage potential partner organizations chosen to support PowerGen’s preferred sales and load growth model(s).
