Main Responsibilities:
The Private Sector Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all public-private sector relationships for the PAID program in Tanzania. This position is responsible for the overall private sector engagement function, including private sector elements of PAID engagement in multi-stakeholder platforms and corresponding due diligence. Accountable for development and implementation of the PAID (Tanzania) private sector engagement strategy in close coordination with local and government partners. Maintain regular communications with key partners, and identify opportunities for closer collaboration and strong coordination.
Private Sector Engagement Coordinator will manage component 1 and portions of component 3, working with business aspects of both AI and liquid nitrogen delivery and distribution. This position will conduct detailed assessments of targeted milk sheds in Tanzania to identify opportunities for AI businesses specific to the local context. They will provide coordination and sub award support primarily to the main Private Sector partner Animal Breeding East Africa (ABEA) and to dairy processors and cooperatives in extending quality AI services to dairy farmers. This support includes negotiating performance-based contracts between processors and cooperatives and AI technicians and providing needed training in managing AI technician incentive programs. In addition, they will work with consultants to upgrade training curriculum to include business management approaches for AI technicians and will collaborate with the National Artificial Insemination Centers (NAICs) and other private partners to establish distribution points for the AI technicians after leading the identification of liquid nitrogen partners. The position will be responsible for providing continuous in-service trainings to AI Technician Field Coordinator and AI technicians on business and financial management practices. They will also identify which AI Technician Field Coordinators are performing excellently and meeting expected outcomes and targets. The prime function will be managing, coordinating and reconciling sub award files

Primary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare private sector engagement work plan, implement and report regularly as required by the National Country Coordinator (NCC).
- With reference to the agreement between Animal Breeding East Africa (ABEA) and PAID program consolidate and verify all invoices and payment to ABEA including monthly management fees and all types of incentives to AI Technicians under ABEA franchise. A physical file must be maintained up dated all the time in the PAID Office.
- In collaboration with the CEO of ABEA facilitate AI Technicians access to AI equipment including bank loan and monitor loaned equipment until the AI Technicians achieve fully ownership.
- In collaboration with Data Management Analyst (DMA) and CEO of ABEA monitor data on inseminations, performance incentives and keep track of the incentives for the AI Technicians and reporting. Prepare Monthly Incentive Vouchers based upon data report.
- Work closely with ABEA to build working relationship with other private sector actors including processors and Dairy farmer cooperatives in the PAID program areas.
- On monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annually track reporting contributions of partners’ in the implementation of PAID program.
- Coordinate with partners to organize PAID stakeholders meeting, collect and synthesize stakeholder’s comments that would improve performance of PAID program.
- Build capacity and mentor AI Technicians on entrepreneurial skills and business management.
- Support and assist with monitoring and evaluation of private sector partner activities and ensure that required M&E data is being reported by the private sector partners.
- Engage and follow up the sub awards to government and private sector
- Perform any other program related activities as required

• Bachelor University degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Business Administration, Finance or related field
• Progressively responsible managerial experience linked with finance, or business
• Proven track record and experience in working with the private sector
• Thorough knowledge of current trends and priorities with the private sector
• Proven ability to effectively broker and manage partnerships
• Strong computer skills
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written in English
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a similar post is desirable
