TANZANIA Media is
currently looking for an Economics/business content writer to handle matters
related to writing articles and news features focused on the Tanzanian economy.
Covering leading market trends,
the publication conducts a deep dive into the top economic sectors in Tanzania,
including real estate, banking, health, education, transportation, environment,
energy and many others.
Duties will include
producing clear, concise, current and factually accurate, well-organized, well-researched
content; conducting phone interviews, as needed, as part of information
gathering; and proofreading and editing for accuracy, grammar, style and tone.
The candidate should have
an exceptional grasp of the subject and be able to write lively and lucid

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Producing concise
and accurate content surrounding the economy, business and finance
according to the media house style and strict deadlines
- Seeking
out and investigating stories via your contacts, press releases and other
media.
- Attending press
conferences and asking questions.
- Developing articles
that are thought provoking and enable the reader to question
- Working
closely with the news team, graphic designers and editors
- Creating and
uploading news content for the website
- 'Live' online
reporting or real-time blogging when covering important events
- Building contacts to maintain a flow of news, relationships with various organizations and other journalists will add value.
- · Strong command of the English language, impeccable grammar and mastery of AP style
- · Sensitivity to tone and audience, and ability to discern what is current, compelling and credible
- · Excellent writing and very computer/online savvy skills
- · Meticulous character and strong attention to detail
- · Must be well versed with various social media platforms
- · Planning, Organizational and Staff Management skills
- · General understanding of current events
- · Be able to work under pressure.
- · Strong editing and proofreading skills
- · Background in Economics &Finance would be an added advantage
- · Should have an academic background in Journalism and/or Economics or have published material in English either on mainstream news or on various platforms
