Ubongo is a social enterprise that creates fun, localized edutainment for learners in Africa. We produce the TV series, Ubongo Kids & Akili and Me, along with a suite of multi-platform learning products from radio to apps. We leverage the power of entertainment, the reach of mass media, and the connectivity of mobile technology to give Africa students a new way to learn. Both show are on national TV across East Africa and are expanding across Africa. We are rapidly growing a set of additional digital and physical products and services for our fans.
We are looking for a fun, energetic and creative VOICE DIRECTOR who can motivate and direct voice acting of children from ages 5-13 for our two shows. You must be be fluent in kiswahili, and a good grasp of english is an added bonus. A background in the performing arts (acting, singing and dancing) is a considerable advantage when directing our young aspiring voice actors.
Responsibilities:
● Coach voice actors on each script before recording
● Direct voice actors in all Akili and Me, and Ubongo Kids scripts for current and upcoming seasons
● Welfare of children when in the studio with them (under supervision of show producer)
Background:
● A diploma in performing arts or minimum two years of experience in the performing arts
● Experience in directing a performance piece
Skills:
● Utilize the natural talent of the voice actor to inspire better performance
● Create an energetic voice acting experience for the voice actor
● Making children feel comfortable and creative
