Currently recruiting Building Maintenance Supervisor, Zuri Zanzibar is due to open in 2018. Zanzibar is characterized by long stretches of white sandy beaches leading to glittering turquoise seas, lush green forest reserves, and year-round sunshine. The west-facing Zuri Zanzibar will frame this abundant natural beauty in its best light: expect palm-shaded hammocks, 300 meters of private beach, an exotic spice garden. A beachside cocktail bar, wellness, Yoga SPA, Bars & Restaurants. The property will comprise 55 villas and bungalows with private terraces and interiors. Striking a balance between chic modernism and traditional African design, 20th-century-style furniture is set to contrast with thatched roofs that emulate a traditional Zanzibar village. RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure the efficient and economic operation of the Engineering Department in support of all other operating Departments, supplying services as required to the entire operation, and maintaining equipment, building, and grounds in optimum condition.
• Public area maintenance and walkways and guest contact areas are well maintained freshly painted and are in impeccable state of repair
• Restaurants maintenance, furniture and general ambiance of the restaurant is in impeccable state of repair
• To supervise closely all Engineering junior staff in the performance of their duties, and delegate duties and responsibilities, as required. To ensure safety in rooms to abide to FTO regulations, electrical terminations to be safe, taps to be labeled, Air conditioning drip tray to be tested, all door locks to be working. All anomalies to be brought to the attention of the Engineer.
• Jointly to work with supervisors in functions
• To coordinate and, if so requested, supervise special projects and employment of outside contractors.
• To establish a well organized Engineering store and closely control inventory.
• Mandatory team member of Firefighting crew.
• To establish, control and monitor closely all environmental awareness and protection programmes, to ensure adherence by all departments in the Hotel, notifying the Chief Engineer of areas that need improvement in environmentally responsible practices.
• To assume full charge of building maintenance and guestroom and public area renovations.
