We are looking to recruit most experienced General Manager, our client is one of the world’s leading promotional Logistics Company. Responsible for the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), injuries, safety, compliance, customer service and general goals, objectives, and long-term strategy.
Job Description
Purpose of the Job (Overall accountability):
• The job holder is responsible to strategize marketing / business / development / operations / projects and to direct the activities of the MTR to ensure achievement of respective sales targets and business plans.
• The job holder is responsible to enhance the reputation and relationship of the company with key customers and accounts in order to further the division’s business interests.
• The job holder is responsible to manage and motivate the operations, projects and other personnel in order to synergise their efforts to the achievement of the division’s targets / goals.
Principal responsibilities / accountabilities:
• Contributes to the formulation of Sector-level strategies / business plans.
• Drives the designing of marketing/sales/ operations/projects strategies/programs
• Manages / monitors efforts of all departments in the to achieve synergies and ensure achievement of the operations targets, sales targets and business plans.
• Translates business plans into action plans with appropriately allocated resources required for achievement of the plan-objectives.
• Ensures the cost of operations in the is kept within the sanctioned expenditure budgets for the division.
• Builds and maintains harmonious relationships with key accounts, institutional customers, and accounts.
• Drives the development and implementation of marketing and innovative service offerings strategies by studying and analyzing data on customers, target groups, and competitor activity using integrated analytical functions.
• Ensures bid management process is carried out efficiently and effectively with accurate cost estimates to improve the number of bids won and safeguard the profitability of large-scale / project-oriented consignment movements.
• Ensures the transportation projects are executed efficiently and delivery is made on time with minimum claims and accidents.
• Ensures proper fleet management to improve the utilization and availability of the fleet, reduce downtime and reduce maintainence cost.
• Ensures proper tracking of the maintenance of assets (preventive and breakdown) are done to reduce repair costs / minimize vehicular downtine
• Proactively and regularly engages in the study of processes pertaining to project management and asset maintenance to improve the operational efficiency and reduce cost.
• Ensures proper IT systems are in place and processes which can unite diverse functions and processes into an integrated collaborative flow are defined.
• Maintains good relationship with the key suppliers and negotiates terms of contract for the purchase and hire of new equipment. Also ensures that a track of supplier performance is maintained.
• Ensures that all purchases and contracts are conducted at competitive levels.
• Sets out specific performance standards in such key areas as business development, operations, project management and yard management; evaluates performance against these standards; coaches and assists the department managers in improving their performance.
Skills:
• Master Degree in Logistics Management
• 6 - 10 years’ experience in senior management of a reputed organization in the trucking business, of which 3 - 4 years with profit-centre responsibility.
