Description
We are based in Arusha, we looking for Tailors/Fashion Designers.
Work Activities
Taking measurements and agreeing on style and fabric
• working out how much it will cost and how long it will take to make
• creating a design, either by hand or using computer software
• creating a new pattern or adapting an existing one
• cutting out fabric pieces
• fitting the garment again and marking any final adjustments
• Stitching the garment together, often using machine.
• Able to make African attire, Suits(both for men and women) School uniforms, Dust coats, overalls, jackets and any other apparel
Skills, interests and qualities
• Attention to detail and good communication skills
• knowledge of fabric types and their properties
• excellent hand-sewing and machining skills
• creativity and the ability to visualise designs
• number skills for measuring
• IT skills to use computer software in the design process
• pattern construction and cutting skills
• the ability to put clients at ease
• accuracy and attention to detail
• the ability to maintain concentration, sometimes for long periods
• Must have Physical and mental stamina
• Knowledge of computer basics for understanding designing or interpreting patterns
• Interpersonal skills mandatory
• Must have sewing and design skills
• Must be smart and clean
