Description
Summary
Responsible for overall control and oversight in all financial aspects of the company. He/she has responsibility for creating and maintenance of the reporting mechanisms related to accounting, financial budgeting and reporting in compliance with Tanzanian governing laws and regulations. S/he will report directly to the Managing Director.
Essential Functions
Develop, implement and maintain the financial policies and procedures, and monitors adherence
Prepare, present and interpret all the financial reports with accuracy and compliance to senior management
Advise senior management on fiscal control and profitability. Adhere to tax laws and regulatory requirements to properly reflect the financial position
Monitor expenditures on a monthly basis and assists with analysis for decision making
Collate, prepare and interpret reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements and reports
Create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems and invoicing
Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
Applying financial expertise to job costing management and analysis
Responsible for cash/debt collection
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree in Finance or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in financial management
Extensive knowledge of Tanzanian laws and regulations
Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain accounting and financial management systems
Demonstrated experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
Demonstrated ability to build and review budgets
Demonstrated excellent personal integrity and confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in team-based environment, supervise a team
Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, and proficiency using online systems and databases
Oral and written proficiency in English required
