Location: Tanzania
Role Purpose
• To drive the implementation of Health and Safety Strategy Plan and manages the administrative aspect of the Health and Safety Function for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Implementing Health and Safety Management systems with aim of attaining OHSAS 18001 certification
• Ensuring compliance with National legal requirements, organizations requirements and best industry practice in regards to Health, Safety and Environment
• Guide the organizations Safety Committees in line with Health and Safety Committee Rules
• Conduct workplace inspections and recommending sound corrective actions so as to ensure continual improvement.
• Spearhead incident investigations and establish root causes as well as ensure corrective measures are put in place to avoid reoccurrence
• Facilitate Environment, Health and Safety capacity building within the organization
• Maintain Environment, Health and Safety database and communicate relevant EHS statistics
• Facilitate risk and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments

Academic qualifications
• University Degree or Post graduate training in Health & Safety related discipline
Work experience & skills
• Three years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer
Key Performance Indicators
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of HR policy, procedures, systems and best practices
• Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills desirable
